I would suppose that there is a Visual Basic alternative to doing it using the command prompt but I didn't want to spend any more time on this as what I've done is good enough for me. Although isn't there a way to launch the command prompt so it's hidden?
I forgot about that and I'm sure there is as a parameter used with process start for the command prompt to run as a hidden window or something. And there is probably a better method than using send keys to place data in the command prompt but I couldn't remember how that is done either. Also if you try creating a secret hidden folder directly on the desktop it displays its name and it displays its folder icon but the icon is real dim. In the folder I created on the desktop and inside it set the secret hidden folders attributes it doesn't show up at all.
